Jonathan Bassett NTR Program Director History and Social Sciences Department Head, Newton North High School Jonathan Bassett has taught high school history in the South Bronx, in Dover Massachusetts, and at Newton North High School, where he is currently the chair of the History and Social Sciences Department. He has a BA in history from Columbia University, a Masters in Teaching from Brown University, and a Doctorate in Education (curriculum and instruction) from Boston University.
Linda Beardsley Directory of Teacher Education and School Partnerships, Tufts University Linda V. Beardsley's career in education has been guided by her belief that education can transform lives and communities. Her work has included extensive teaching experience at all levels, from early childhood classrooms through middle school, high school, and university programs. In 1992 she joined the Massachusetts Department of Education, playing a key role in implementing the Education Reform Act of 1993. In September 1997 she was appointed Directory of Teacher Education and School Partnerships at Tufts University. In collaboration with university and K-12 educations, she developed the Urban Teacher Training Collaborative, a Professional Development School model of teacher preparation. Ms. Beardsley received her B.A. degree in English and Secondary Education at Simmons College and graduated cum laude in 1969. She received her Masters Degree in Child Development and Early Education at Tufts University in 1981. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Tisch College of Citizenship and Public Service. She is also a Founding Member of EdVestors, a philanthropic group funding education reform initiatives in urban schools.
Susan Moore Johnson Carl H. Pforzheimer, Jr. Professor of Teaching and Learning, Harvard University School of Education Susan Moore Johnson is the Carl H. Pforzheimer, Jr. professor of Education in Teaching and Learning at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She is the principal investigator for the Project on the Next Generation of Teachers. Johnson studies teachers' careers and working conditions, school organization, education policy, and leadership and change in school systems. Publications include Teachers at Work (1990) and Finders and Keepers: Helping New Teachers Survive and Thrive in Our Schools (2004).

Jennifer Price Principal, Newton North High School Jennifer Price began her teaching career as a Social Studies teacher at Maynard High School where she taught and coached for four years. She then spent four years as a Housemaster at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School. She now serves as the Principal of Newton North High School. Jennifer holds a BA from Princeton, a Masters in Educational Administration from Boston College and Harvard, and is currently finishing up a Doctorate in Education at Harvard.
Steven Rattendi Mathematics Department Head, Newton South High School Steven Rattendi is currently the chair of the mathematics department at Newton South High School. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Hamilton College with a major in mathematics and a minor in economics, and a Masters in Science in Teaching with a focus in mathematics education from Boston College. In June 2007 he completed additional graduate level coursework in educational administration.

Joel Stembridge Principal, Newton South High School Joel Stembridge began his career teaching Mathematics and theater in Salem, Oregon where he taught and coached for four years. Upon moving to Cape Cod, he taught Mathematics and History for two years at Barnstable Middle School in Hyannis followed by a one-year administrative internship at Brookline High School. His administrative experience prior to arriving at Newton South include 4 years as Assistant Principal of Scituate High School in Scituate, Massachusetts, and five years as Headmaster of the John D. O'Bryant School of Mathematics and Science in Boston. Joel earned an AB from the University of Chicago, an MAT from Willamette University, and completed his administrative training at Boston University.
Burton Weiner Teacher of English and Director of Student Learning, Newton North High School Burton Weiner is a teacher of English and the Director of Student Teaching at Newton North High School. He also holds an appointment to the graduate faculty at Bridgewater State College and serves on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Burt earned his Doctorate in Education from Boston University, specializing in the areas of curriculum and instruction.
