Although a Master's degree is not required to earn an Initial License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and NTR is not a Master's Degree granting institution, NTR has partnered with Tufts University to provide an option for NTR students to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT). NTR candidates interested in this option must apply to Tufts University separately. If accepted by both programs, candidates will earn four credits for their NTR coursework, and will complete the remaining courses for the MAT degree at Tufts.

Please not that status as a student in NTR does not guarantee admission into Tufts' MAT program. Applicants to Tufts MAT program are not required to submit GRE scores with their Tufts application. NTR courses will only count towards the MAT if the student takes the courses after being admitted into Tuft University's MAT program.
